Experience the flavors of Ehime Prefecture, known as the “Citrus Kingdom” of Japan. Join us for food tastings, a live tuna cutting event, and explore a variety of specialty seafood and citrus products that showcase the region’s delicious offerings.
About Ehime
Ehime Prefecture, located on the island of Shikoku in Japan, is nestled between the Seto Inland Sea and the Shikoku Mountain range. The ideal climate of this region and soil make it the optimal environment for producing citrus and is known as the “Citrus Kingdom”. Ehime is also famous for its seafood delicacies, such as fresh tuna and the prized tai (sea bream).
Fun Fact: Uwajima City, the very town Uwajimaya is named after is located in Ehime Prefecture.
Live Tuna Cutting by “Fish Girl” Team at Seattle & Beaverton Stores
Come see an exciting showcase by Uwajima Fisheries High School, where the “Fish Girl” team of talented high schoolers will demonstrate the art of filleting a massive, farmed Bluefin Tuna with precision and flair. Tuna will be available for purchase following the event.

Live Tuna Cutting by “Sabaki Girls” at Bellevue & Renton Stores
Come see the Sabaki Girls from Ehime Prefecture skillfully slice through an entire large tuna using just a single knife! Learn about the fascinating details of the locally and thoughtfully raised tuna from Uwajima, Japan as you watch the intricate tuna dismantling process. Tuna will be available for purchase following the event.

Meet Mikyan
Mikyan is the adorable mascot of Ehime Prefecture. The mikan orange is a local specialty of Ehime and Mikyan is a cross between a mikan orange and puppy. Mikyan will be stopping by our stores so come on by to meet Mikyan!
