Ingredients
3 lbs. pork loin roast (cut in long strips about 2″ wide)
1/2 tsp. five spice seasoning
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. mirin (rice cooking wine)
1/4 Tbsp. fresh ginger root, grated
1 clove garlic
1 Tbsp. ketchup
3 Tbsp. hoisin sauce
dash of red food coloring
Preparation
Combine all ingredients except pork to create marinade. Place pork in mixture and marinate for at least two hours in refrigerator.
Place marinated pork on rack over a baking pan, lining the pan with foil will make the pan easier to clean. Roast at 450 degrees F. for 15 minutes, reduce heat to to 350 degrees F., roast 45 minutes or until done. Brush on sauce during roasting.
Cool and slice into 1/8″ thick pieces. Serve with hot Chinese style mustard, Ketchup and toasted sesame seeds.
