Recipe by Uwajimaya

This Japanese Tartar Sauce is a creamy, tangy delight, made with smooth Kewpie mayo, a splash of lemon, and crunchy pickles. Its rich, savory flavor with a hint of umami makes it the perfect dipping sauce for fried seafood, tempura, or even as a spread for sandwiches.

Ingredients

2 boiled eggs

1 tbsp Kewpie Mayo (Japanese mayonnaise)

1 tsp Japanese Karashi Hot mustard

1/2 lemon (freshly squeezed)

3 tbsp finely chopped pickles

1/4 onion (finely chopped)

Preparation

1. Prepare the Ingredients:

  • Finely chop the pickles, onions, and boiled eggs into small, bite-sized pieces.

2. Combine:

  • In a small bowl, combine the Kewpie mayo, lemon juice, hot mustard, and the chopped ingredients.
  • Stir the mixture until smooth.

3. Season:
